how to import MySql dump file?

Dear sir,
I got a file in the format of MySlq dump .sql file. It is about 120mb.
However should I import it into my MSDE database? I have MSDE in my XP pc,
but I do have a Enterprise manager on my PC as well.
Thanks.Hi
MySQL is not a Microsoft product. You need to load your MySQL dump into a
MySQL database installation. From there, you need to BCP or export the data
to MSDE.
A direct load is not possible.

Thanks.I would change this file extension to txt.

In Enterprise Manager go to Tools - Data Transformation Services - Import Data and follow a wizard. Change Data Source to txt file.

It should create a table as is.

Hope it helps.|||

Hi,
Actually I didnt understand what you are saying.
I mean I have table ready in my database in which I need to import this file.
e.g first column in my table is I.P add. in which it takes 62.219.115.5.
Second field is browser i.d.In that field instead of taking [01/Mar/2007:04:26:51 -0700] ,it takes - and so on.
So my problem is when I try to import data using DTS its not fetching correct data in respective columns.I guess this is because of the format of the file.
Thanks|||Do you need this as one time deal or on a permanent basis like on schedule every day?

You are having a hard case it is true.

What I was trying to tell you let SQL generate a new temporary table on a server and then deal with it on a server side. It probably will create one column with all text in it for each record. But then you would be able to process it and insert into production table if possible.

I don't think server would be able to split this record into correct columns with no delimiters.|||Had you ever seen this?

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=890cd06b-abf8-4c25-91b2-f8d975cf8c07&displaylang=en

It is a log parser. I used it once with pretty good success.

Good Luck.|||Actually I'll have to do this once in a month.
I'll get log files for whole month from some other server.
And at the end of the month,I'll have to parse all files in to a table.|||Try to use logparser then.

How to implement special text format in MSRS?

Our team need to implement the following text format in MSRS:

1. Text Wrap

We need to wrap the text at the end of the line in these 3 ways.
1) HARDWRAP: Hardwrap of overflow text.
2) TRUNCATE: Truncates letters based on column width.
3) WORDWRAP: Wraps words to the next line.

2.Text capitalization

We need to specify capitalization rules for the text in a column.

1) INITCAP: Capitalizes the initial letter of the text.
2) LOWERCASE: Displays text in lowercase letters.
3) UPPERCASE: Displays text in uppercase letters.

Does MSRS support all these? So far, we have no idea how to implement it, hope some one can help.

Thanks a lot!

I have the same question too as I would love to have a INITCAP function to use instead of Custom code

How to i apply expresion for Number format in RDL file in SQL reporting

Hi,
How do I apply Expression for number to display a more readable format in
report( like 4516785 into 4,516,785)in RDL file in SQL reporting services
i applyed " #,# " in custom format for number, it is supporting to numbers
except 0.
if the value of the number 0 then it is displaying blank value.
but i have to display 0 also.
if any body know the solution please point me .
thnaks in advance
mur.#,##0
The 0 means always show. So for instance you could also do this:
#,##0.0 which would have 1234.000 would show as 1,234.0 whereas #,##0.#
would show as 1,234
